NVCA Today

NVCA started off 2012 with a busy events schedule with several niche networking opportunities for members. On January 10th we held our Annual VCs@CES event in Las Vegas where 200+ venture capitalists were able to connect with one another and compare notes about the technologies being unveiled at The 2012 International CES. The following night, on January 11th, we held our first Lifesciences Investor Dinner in conjunction with the JP Morgan Healthcare Conference. That dinner attracted a crowd of approximately 80 investors who all seemed to enjoy the opportunity to meet up with their peers in a relaxed setting. On January 24th, NVCA co-hosted an event in Silicon valley with the Latin American Venture Capital Association and Silicon Valley Bank. At this event, LAVCA’s Executive Director, Cate Ambrose, gave an enlightening talk about the emerging investment landscape in Brazil as well as other parts of Latin America.

In addition to networking events, NVCA held our annual fundraising webcast on January 27th. This program continues to be our most well attended webcast. Howard Rosenblum of DLA Piper moderated a discussion among three LPs who were quite candid about their outlook on the VC asset class and what it takes to get funded in this environment. Upcoming Events

On February 9th, NVCA will be hosting its first VCs in IT Reception at the Quadras Conference Center in Menlo Park, CA. This reception will feature a panel discussion about the Rise of Super Angels. The panel will be moderated by Nicole Perlroth of the New York Times and will include Dave McClure, Aydin Senkut and Charles Hudson. To Learn more, click here
