|
In order to better address the specific areas in our
organization's energy lobbying efforts, the NVCA Cleantech Advisory Council has
established four working groups that will delve more deeply into policy specifics
and legislative concerns that are important to NVCA cleantech members. The four working groups and their areas
of focus are:
- Finance
Working Group - this group will work on issues such as the DOE Loan
Guarantee Program, the concept of a "Green Energy Bank" and federal
funding for energy technologies and programs like the ARPA-E program
- The
Transportation Group - this group will focus on issues around new advanced
vehicles such as plug-in and hybrid vehicles as well as biofuels and on
the infrastructure challenges involved in wholesale changes to our current
transportation sector, as well as advanced battery technology issues and
automated traffic flow.
- Green
Buildings - this group will look at areas like advanced materials and
energy efficiency and develop proposals to encourage the adoption of
standards and building codes for energy efficient buildings.
- Alternative
Power - this group will interact with utilities and FERC, as well as the
renewable energy community to seek ways that solar, wind and other
renewable energy technologies can be integrated into our power grid. This group will also work on "smart
grid" initiatives and develop recommendations for improving the nation's
electricity grid.

groups please contact Emily Baker at
