For instance:

  • There are approximately 10,700 open jobs at 2500 venture-backed companies listed on StartUpHire.com.
  • Thirty percent of the StartUpHire jobs are in the software industry followed by IT Services (19 percent), Healthcare Services (8 percent) and Business Products and services (8 percent).
  • Almost half the jobs on StartUpHire are technical in nature with 48 percent in the area of engineering, product development, or quality assurance.
  • California has the most start-up jobs listed at 39 percent. Yet the Mid-Atlantic region states have more collective jobs listed than New England.

Also during Global Entrepreneurship Week, employees at venture-backed start-up companies were asked to submit their company's story in 140 characters or less. These "short stories" were published on both the NVCA and StartUpHire websites and the most compelling were highlighted in a national press release.

Jobs listings at StartUpHire can now be accessed through a link on the NVCA home page. NVCA members can list portfolio company jobs on StartUpHire free of charge.
