NVCA encourages its members’ participation in two important industry surveys. The first is the VC-Backed Leadership Survey, which is being conducted now through the end of March. This is a follow-on survey that NVCA and Spencer Stuart conducted in 2001 about the leadership skills found in successful venture-backed CEOs. Recognizing that the environment in which venture backed companies operate in today has changed dramatically in the last decade, this study will reveal how the leadership and experience requirements have changed for successful venture backed CEOs. The survey results will also show the most common practices for recruiting venture-backed CEOs and how that has evolved since 2001.

The second survey, which will be emailed to members in late March, is our Annual Global VC Survey. This survey will ask venture capitalists about their outlook for the venture capital industry as well as the factors that can improve market conditions. This survey will be conducted in major VC markets around the globe including China, the U.K., France, Germany, Canada, Brazil, Israel and hopefully India.

We encourage members to complete these surveys. They are both brief and will only take a few minutes of your time. The results of both surveys will be made available to NVCA Members and the media.
